Privacy Policy

Dodgeye (“Dodgeye”, the “Game”) is operated by Dodgeye (“we”, “us”, “our”). This Privacy Policy applies to the Dodgeye mobile app on iOS and Android and to our website at dodgeye.com. By using Dodgeye, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.

1. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the Game, keep it fair, and improve it.

Account & sign-in

You can start playing instantly as a guest — this uses a random identifier generated on your device and does not require any personal details. If you choose to sign in to save and sync your progress, you can use Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In. In that case we receive a unique, opaque account identifier from the provider, and — only if you permit it — your name and email address. Apple's “Hide My Email” is fully supported. We use these details solely to create and secure your account and to recognise you across devices. We do not collect or store phone numbers.

Profile & leaderboards

If you choose a username to appear on leaderboards or in the Daily Challenge, that username is public. Please don't include personal information in it.

Gameplay data

We store your progress — levels completed, stars, coins, unlocked cosmetics, streaks, and best scores. When you submit a ranked or Daily run, we also process the moves and timing of that run so our servers can replay and validate it. This is how we keep scores honest and prevent cheating; it is core to the Game working fairly.

Device & technical information

To operate and protect the service we automatically receive: device model and operating-system version, app version, language/region, and your IP address. IP addresses are used for security, rate-limiting, and fraud/cheat prevention. If the app crashes, we may receive diagnostic logs to help us fix bugs.

Advertising information

Dodgeye shows optional rewarded ads (for example, to reveal a hint or continue a run) — never forced ads, and never a way to buy an advantage. If you choose to watch one, our third-party advertising partners may access a device advertising identifier and limited technical data to serve and measure the ad, under their own privacy policies. On iOS, ad partners only receive tracking-related identifiers if you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; you can decline and still play fully.

Website watchlist

If you join the pre-launch watchlist on our website, we store the email address you submit on our own servers (no third-party mailing service) and use it solely to tell you when Dodgeye launches. We do not use it for any other marketing, never share or sell it, and you can request its deletion at any time by emailing privacy@dodgeye.com.

What we do not collect

We do not collect precise location, your contacts, photos, files, microphone or camera data, or health data. We do not use phone numbers or one-time-password (SMS) verification.

2. How we use your information

• Create, authenticate, and secure your account, and sync your progress across devices.
• Run core features: campaign, the Daily Challenge, Endless mode, and leaderboards.
• Validate scores and keep play fair — replaying submitted runs, detecting cheating or abuse, and enforcing our Terms (including suspensions or bans).
• Operate, maintain, and secure the service — including rate-limiting, preventing fraud, and diagnosing crashes.
• Improve the Game and understand which features are used.
• Show optional rewarded ads and measure their delivery.
• Communicate with you about support requests and important service or policy changes.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

3. Legal bases (EEA / UK users)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

• Performance of a contract — to provide the Game, your account, and progress sync.
• Legitimate interests — to keep the Game fair and secure, prevent cheating and fraud, and improve our services (balanced against your rights).
• Consent — for optional advertising identifiers/tracking where required (you can withdraw consent at any time).
• Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information to comply with law.

4. When we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

• Sign-in providers — Apple and Google, when you choose to sign in, to authenticate you.
• Service providers (processors) — trusted vendors that host our servers and database and provide security or crash-diagnostics tooling, acting on our instructions and bound by confidentiality.
• Advertising partners — only in connection with optional rewarded ads, as described above.
• Public leaderboards — your chosen username and score are visible to other players.
• Legal & safety — where required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Dodgeye.
• Business transfers — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Advertising & analytics

Ads in Dodgeye are optional and rewarded — you opt in each time by choosing to watch one. We do not run ads that gate normal play, and no payment or ad ever grants a competitive advantage. Advertising and any analytics partners process data under their own policies; where we use such partners we will identify them here and honour your device-level ad and tracking settings, including Apple's App Tracking Transparency and Google's ad controls.

Website analytics (this site)

On dodgeye.com we use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site (for example which sections are read and where people click). This is strictly opt-in: analytics does not load and no data is sent until you choose Accepton the consent banner. We use Google Consent Mode with analytics storage denied by default; advertising signals stay disabled because this website shows no ads. If you Decline — or ignore the banner — nothing loads. To change your choice later, clear this site's data in your browser and the banner will appear again. Google processes this data as described in its own policies.

6. International data transfers

We and our service providers may process your information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) as required by applicable law.

7. Data retention

We keep your account and progress data for as long as your account is active so you don't lose your game. Security and anti-cheat logs (such as IP addresses and run submissions) are kept only as long as needed for those purposes and then deleted or anonymised. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with law or resolve disputes.

8. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, opaque account identifiers, rotating authentication tokens, and server-side validation. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incident.

9. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”).
• Port your data to another service.
• Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell your personal information, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

To exercise any right, email us at privacy@dodgeye.com. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within the timeframes required by law. You can also manage advertising identifiers and tracking through your device settings, and you can delete your local game data by uninstalling the app.

10. Children's privacy

Dodgeye is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. Where a user may be a child, any advertising is configured to be non-personalised in line with applicable law (such as COPPA and the GDPR's protections for children). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at privacy@dodgeye.com and we will delete it.

Third-party links & services

The Game and website may link to third-party services (such as the App Store, Google Play, and our social pages). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice in the app or on our website. Your continued use of Dodgeye after an update means you accept the revised policy.
